To make the BASE SHAKE add to a blender:
Ice to the 16-20 oz mark
1 heaping scoop of your favorite protein powder (choose any protein you like: Whey, Soy, Egg, or any combination)
2-5 tablespoons of powdered milk (this gives the shake a smoother consistency and adds protein)
12-15 oz water
To the BASE SHAKE add 1 tablespoon of Barlene’s organic flax seed oil, 3 oz of Monavie premium health juice or other Acai juice, 1 teaspoon Agave nectar, a dash of salt, blend on highest setting for 45 seconds until smooth.
To the BASE SHAKE add 1 heaping tablespoon of Butter Buds or Molly McButter, 1 packet of Splenda or a teaspoon of Agave nectar, 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon, dash of salt, blend on highest setting for 45 seconds until smooth.
To the BASE SHAKE add 1 heaping tablespoon of frozen Limeade concentrate, 1 teaspoon Butter Buds or Molly McButter, 1 packet of Splenda or a teaspoon of Agave nectar, 2 sheets of low fat Graham crackers, blend on highest setting for 45 seconds until smooth.
To the BASE SHAKE add 1 heaping tablespoon of natural peanut butter (I prefer freshly ground roasted peanuts only – like the type you buy at your local health food store,) 1 tablespoon of commercial chocolate syrup, dash of salt, blend on highest setting for 45 seconds until smooth.
NOTE: When adding fat to a shake, whether it’s flax seed oil or peanut butter, it is important to watch that you don’t over consume other fats throughout the day. The best amount of added fat to eat in any given day is 1-2 ounces total. So make sure not to double up or triple your total fats for the day by eating this shake and then consuming other fats such as olive oil, nuts, salmon, avocado or other nut butters!
